October Fun in First Grade

What a busy month we've had!! I can't believe we're almost at the end of October!  Here are a few highlights from the month.....

Pumpkins, Pumpkins!! We're read stories, watched video clips, and done sequencing activities about how pumpkins grow.  Next week we will visit the Pumpkin Park to see the real thing!!!

These are some of the books we have been reading at school! Which one  is your favorite story?

We will also celebrate our 50th day of school this week!  On Thursday,  dress in 1950's attire to come to school. We will have coke floats for snack and a sock hop, too!

This week is also Bully Awareness Week.  We have talked about being kind,  reaching out to our friends, and telling someone if we are being picked on or "bullied".  Talk at home about bullies!
Check your child's folder for the pledge against bullying:
I am a kid against bullying and I pledge to:  Speak up,  Reach out, and Be a Friend!
